This week’s prize is sponsored by Paper Pretties.

This week’s sketch was a little harder for me than previous sketches. I worked quite a while trying to get a combination of papers and such that I liked, but I am really happy with what I wound up making. I saw the “Santa’s Toy Co” stamp from Cornish Heritage Farms and the idea for a Naughty/Nice list popped into my head. I used the Ledger paper from Cosmo Cricket’s “The Boyfriend” DP stack. I added tons of Distress Ink, wrote the list, then distressed more. I pop dotted the tag over the list, and love the overall effect.

Thanks for looking!

Copic Creations Challenge #36

This is my first time entering the Copic Creations Challenge, and this week’s challenge is to use the color orange. I love orange, and this card is one of my favorites!

(click for larger view)

This card came together pretty quickly, and the natural colored cardstock really looks nice with the orange patterned paper and flower image. I used silver rhinestone “pearls” for the center of the flower and that really adds a nice sparkle! Here is a closeup of the center:

I used my new EK Success Circle Scissor Pro to cut out the flower, and will definitely be using this tool often. It cut the circle quickly and cleanly, and is so much nicer than my old circle cutter.

The flower stamp is one I like to use a lot, and I think it looks great in orange!

Thanks for looking!

Copics: YR07, YR09, YR12, YR15
Misc: Recollections (Rhinestone Stickers); Ribbon (Michael’s); pop dots; EK Success (Circle Scissor Pro)

JustRite Friday Challenge #39

This week’s JustRite challenge is to make a Thanksgiving or Thank You card or project using JustRite stamps. The sponsor is Spellbinders! Here is my Thanksgiving card:

This was a simple card to put together, and it was a lot of fun to color. I used an image and sentiment from the Autumn Blessings stamp set, which is the first JustRite set I acquired back when I began cardmaking. It was used in the first cardmaking class I attended, and we received the set as part of take home package from the class.

Here is a closer pic of the coloring on the image:

I used my Copic Airbrush System to create the golden colored band around the image. I was trying for a slightly mottled look, which looks much better in person than in the pictures! I am quite happy with how this card turned out.

Thanks for looking!

Supplies:
Cardstock: The Paper Company (Natural); Neenah Classic Crest (Solar White)
Ink: Memento (Rich Cocoa)

I’m sorry for the really bad lighting in these photos!

This week’s prize is sponsored by Kitchen Sink Stamps!

I was inspired by recent challenges I’ve seen using the cracked glass technique. I love that look! Split Coast Stampers has a great tutorial here.

Here is a closeup of the snowman:

JustRite Challenge #35

This week’s JustRite Friday Challenge is sponsored by SpellBinders! The challenge is to make a Christmas tag using JustRite stamps. Here is my tag:

I used one of JustRite’s Old Fashioned Christmas stamps for the sentiment and image, and embossed it in gold. I colored the image with Copics and used stickles to add shine on the gifts and bottom of the sleigh. I used my Copic ABS on the ornament shapes (SpellBinders Labels Nine) so they would coordinate with the colors in the stamp. I distressed the edges of the square with distress ink (tea dye) and memento ink (rich cocoa).

Family life was very full over the past month, which is why my blogging was non-existent. I hope to be able to pick back up and do a few posts a week again.

Thanks for looking!

Supplies:
Cardstock: American Crafts white
Stamp: JustRite Old Fashioned Christmas
Ink: VersaMark (champagne), Ranger Distress Ink (tea dye), Memento (rich cocoa)
Embossing Powder: Martha Stewart (gold)
Spellbinders Nestabilities: Labels Nine (two largest nesties)
Punch: Marvy Uchida (2-1/4″ scalloped square)
Copic Markers: G21, G05, R32, R46, R59
Copic Air Brush System
Stickles: Crystal, Xmas Red, Holly
Other: Ribbon (Michael’s), pop dots

Home Sweet Home Mini Card

I created this card for a friend of mine who recently moved. She loves butterflies, so I hope she enjoys this card! I am also entering it into the American Crafts Punches Week Challenge. The challenge is to create a card or scrapbook layout using punches and at least two AC products.

This card is only 4×4, so it was a quick little card to whip up. I used Martha Stewart butterfly stamps with AC pigment ink (Wave) to create the tone-on-tone background. I stamped the sentiment with VersaMark Dazzle (Champagne) and used AC Zing! embossing powder (Aqua) to coordinate with the paper and add some shine.

I used my EK Success corner punch to create the scallop border on the yellow cardstock. There is a guide on the punch that can be removed to use to create a scallop edge, rather than just round corners. I also used Martha Stewart’s Doily Lace punch on the blue cardstock, and a Michael’s punch for the butterflies.

Thanks for looking!

Supplies:
Cardstock: American Crafts (brights-blue, tropicals-yellow); DCWV (Old World)
Stamps: American Crafts (sentiment); Martha Stewart (butterflies)
Ink: American Crafts pigment ink (Wave); VersaMark Dazzle (Champagne)
Embossing Powder: American Crafts Zing! (Aqua)
Punches: EK Success (corner rounder); Martha Stewart (Doily Lace), Michael’s (butterfly)
Other: American Crafts (button), pop dots, dot tape runner

My Card: (click images for larger view)

This week’s prize is sponsored by The {Stamps} of Life by Stephanie Barnard! The winner of this week’s challenge receives two sets of THEIR CHOICE from The {Stamps} of Life!

I just received my final order from Cornish Heritage Farms on Tuesday. I am still very sad that the company is closing down–their stamps are so amazing! I hope another buyer comes along and keeps it all going. Anyway, my card today features stamps from the “Primitive Beginnings” set. The sentiment is Hero Arts.

I stamped the background with Distress Ink (Barn Door), then sponged over it with Distress Ink (Tea Dye) to make it look aged. The sentiment was also stamped with Barn Door. I distressed the edges of both the sentiment rectangle and its background with the edge of my scissors. The sentiment rectangle was further distressed with Tea Dye. I separated one strand from my baker’s twine (which I stole from the kitchen), and colored it with Copic E35. I wrapped that around the red background cardstock. I used dimensionals to adhere the sentiment to the red cardstock, then pop dots to adhere all of that to the card.

For the house I sponged Peeled Paint (Distress Ink) onto white cardstock, then stamped the image with Tuxedo Black (Memento). I also stamped the tree with distress inks, then sponged Tea Dye over it to tone down the white cardstock. I wrapped more Copic-colored baker’s twine around the paper and added some buttons that I airbrushed with my new Copic ABS.

Thanks for looking! I hope you enjoyed my primitive card.
